Procedure
1. Fill three forth of a glass with water. 2. Fill the other glass with the same honey volume. 3. Dive one coin in the glass with water. Was the diving speed low, average or high? 4. Dive the other coin in the glass with honey. And now, how was it? |
||
Why?
The coin diving speed in water is much higher than the verified for honey. This can be explained by the fact that the honey viscosity is higher than the one the water. The viscosity can be described as the resistance offered by a fluid to its own flow. The honey drainage is much more difficult than the drainage of water because it is more viscous. Imagine that you had honey in your house tubes. You would need one day to fill the bathtub! |
